What Is MSU Denver's Career Link?

Career Link is a career engagement platform hosted by MSU Denver Classroom to Career (C2) Hub where students can manage their career planning and search for employment opportunities. You can:

  • Sign up for workshops, career fairs, and other campus recruiting events
  • Research employers and set up automatic position notifications
  • Find career resources and resume building tools

  • Report a career outcome
  • Complete a survey

Accessing Career Link

  1. From your phone or computer, click the link below to access Career Link.
  2. Log in with your MSU Denver NetID and password.
  3. Search for jobs, events, employers, appointments with career advisors, and more!

Let's Schedule A Career Advising Appointment

Current students and graduates (within the first year from the date of their graduation) may meet with an advisor for career advising. Here’s how:

  1. Log into Career Link
  2. Select ‘Counseling’ from the top right menu on the homepage.
  3. Click on the ‘Request New Appointment’ button.
  4. Select the ‘Type’ of appointment you are seeking from the first drop-down. Fill in the preferred date range, time and/or days of the week to help refine your search.
  5. Then click ‘Check Availability’.
  6. Select the Career Advisor based on the desired appointment date/time.
  7. When the request box appears, add any relevant notes for the Career Advisor (optional).
  8. Click ‘Submit Request’. The Career Advisor will approve the request and send a meeting invitation with an MS Teams link, if needed, to your MSU Denver email account.
  9. Accept the meeting invitation and save it to your calendar.
  10. If needed, reply with a resume or other files for the appointment.
  11. Contact the C2Hub ([email protected]) for questions or issues with scheduling.

Explore Options for Virtual Counseling/Drop-ins

Schedule a Virtual Counseling Appointment

  1. Log into Career Link
  2. Select ‘Counseling’ from the top right menu on the homepage.
  3. Click on the ‘Request New Appointment’ button.
  4. Use filters and Check Availability for the specific counselor you wish to meet with.
  5. Select time slot and Submit Request.
  6. When a counselor has accepted your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email.
  7. On the day of the appointment, go to Counseling.
  8. Find your appointment and Check In within 30 minutes of your appointment.
  9. Once you have checked in, you will see a modal asking you to wait for your appointment.
  10. When your counselor starts the meeting, the Virtual Meeting information will be displayed on the screen.
  11. Click the provided virtual meeting link to join the virtual meeting and meet with your counselor!

Drop into Virtual Office Hours

  1. Log into Career Link
  2. Select ‘Counseling’ from the top right menu on the homepage.
  3. Click ‘Drop In Now’.
  4. Select the team/office you would like to meet with.
    • Note: (You can only select teams who are online, if a team/office is unavailable it will show as “offline”)
  5. You will see a pop-up box asking you to wait for your appointment.
  6. When the counselor starts the meeting, the Virtual Meeting information will be displayed.
  7. Click the provided virtual meeting link to join the virtual meeting and meet with your counselor!

Searching For Job & Internship Positions

  1. Log into Career Link.
  2. On the top right of the homepage you will see a menu of choices. From that menu, select ‘Jobs’ from the left menu.
  3. You can then ‘Search All Positions’, or narrow down your options with ‘Search Career Jobs’, ‘Search Internships’, ‘Search Work Study’. You can also just type in ‘Keywords’.
    • Note: you can also choose “Search Jobs” from the row of boxes across the middle of the homepage!
  4. More filters to refine your search are available under the search bar. (Search by major to find internships likely to be approved for credit).
  5. Select the position you are interested in to see more detailed information about the position, as well as the qualifications and how to apply.
  6. By clicking + ‘Create Job Alert’, you can set up an alert based on that search criteria and indicate how often you would like to receive them via email.
  7. You can also + ‘Follow’ the organization if you want to be updated on an employer’s recruiting activity (Career Fairs, Position Postings, On-Campus Interviews, etc.).

How To RSVP/Register For An Event

  1. Log into Career Link.
  2. On the top right of the home page, there will be a tab which says ‘Events‘. Click Events.
  3. A page will load of all events available to sign up for currently.
  4. Click the Event of your choice and click ‘Attend’ on the top right side of the page.

Complete A Survey

  1. Log into Career Link.
  2. On the top right of the homepage you will see a circle with your initials and you will click that.
  3. A dropdown menu will prompt and you will click where it says ‘Surveys’.
  4. A list of current surveys will show on the page and you will click your desired survey choice to complete.

How Do I Find Pathways?

  1. Log into Career Link.
  2. A row of boxes will show at the middle of the homepage and you will click the box called ‘Pathways’.
  3. A page will load with all Pathways possible for you, and you will click the pathway associated with the program you need.
  4. Once you click on your pathway, you click to view the pathway tasks to complete.
  5. For further clarification, check out the video linked below as a guide to accessing and completing Pathways in Career Link. 
  • Note: Pathways can also refer to scholarship program requirements.

How Can I Report A Career Outcome?

  1. Log into Career Link.
  2. On the top right of the homepage you will see a circle with your initials and you will click that.
  3. A dropdown menu will prompt and you will click where it says ‘My Account’.
  4. On the top right side of the page you will see a box which says ‘Career Outcomes’ and you will click that.
  5. A page will prompt which says ‘Add New’ and you will click Add New to begin reporting your career outcome.
    • Note: Career Outcomes can include things such as interview requests, job offers, service learning opportunities, paid/unpaid internships, and more!

How do I access Career Finder & Career Explorer?

  1. Log into Career Link.
  2. On the top right of the homepage you will see a tab labeled ‘Resources’ and you will click that.
  3. A page will load with all the Resources available to students in Career Link.
  4. In this list of Resources, you will see both Career Finder and Career Explorer. You will click the feature you want to use.
    • Career Finder: This short quiz helps you to learn more about suggested careers based on your interests and level of work experience.
    • Career Explorer: This tool allows you to explore careers based on industries, growth, green jobs, preparation, and other criteria from the Dept of Labor’s ONET database.
